I love these. They are comfortable and atractive. I'm older and don't have the best looking legs anymore. I feel better about swiming. I was looking form swim shorts that were long enough . I had never heard of boardshorts. They are the great. I love them. I tell everyone who asks where I got them. I have been asked alot. B

I purchased these to use for surfing lessons in Hawaii...and ended up wearing them a whole lot more! They are super comfortable and it's nice to be able to walk around in them w/o feeling like you are wearing a swimming suit. I felt totally comfortable walking around in them and didn't need to put on additional wraps or swim covers. I got the size medium (usually I wear size 8) and they fit perfectly. I had heard that they run a bit small in size so opted for the medium rather than the small - and I am very glad that I did. The fact that these are UPF 50+ is just an added bonus as far as I am concerned. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering the purchase!

By Calamity Jane
I had been looking for months for board shorts that don't flare out and make me look like a cow. When I found these on Amazon, I actually called the manufacturer to ask them if they're lined, so I wouldn't have to wear anything underneath it (I had previously resorted to wearing spandex workout shorts, which were too thick and which needed underwear). The rep checked and said yes. Well, that wasn't true.
There is a tiny "panty" diamond in the nether region, where several seams meet, and that little spot is lined, but that's it. There's no built-in "underwear" or panty to these swim shorts, and the material is so thin (as thin as cheap underwear), I felt almost naked underneath it. It is considerably thinner than standard bathing suit material, so if you had it in a light color, you'd be compromising your modesty (I bought mine in black). I ended up wearing a pair of underwear beneath it the second time I wore it and was instantly more comfortable. But I shouldn't have to do that...it should be fully lined and not quite so thin!
The length was good, although the waist band's elastic is a bit too strong. There is a tiny mesh pocket inside that's big enough to hold a house key but not much else, so it's rather pointless.
I am keeping them because it is so impossible to find swim shorts that are long enough without being baggy, but I'm not thrilled with them. I guess I'll just be packing extra underwear for all my beach trips!
