Ordered these in white. I'm a 6 but usually get something a little bigger for my pants since many pants aren't made for people who have a butt. I ordered a 7 in white.
When I got these, I was surprised by how light it was. I was also surprised by how sheer it was. Even after I ordered it, I second-guessed myself as to whether white was a good idea or not. The plus side is that it's bright and summery and doesn't make you look too laden with clothes, but the downside is that when it's wet, it's like you're wearing a plastic bag as to sheerness. Not very attractive.
It also didn't fit me very well; a little bunchy, and it didn't feel super comfortable. Again, most pants aren't made for my body type (I'm normal other than the detail mentioned above, which isn't really abnormal, just not what these styles are made for.)
So I guess if you're slim all the way around, and you don't mind wearing a sheer bottom (I'd recommend wearing some kind of swimsuit underneath) you'll be fine, but I returned these for a different brand and a different color.

These are perfect! I needed to find clothes for 80 degree weather in the middle of winter. All the stores are not carrying summer clothes yet here in Oregon.

I ordered these board shorts for my granddaughter who does not like conventional beach wear. They are very comfortable and attractive.
